Voices of Sony
I recently took part in an interview with Corporate Communications in which I was able to speak in more detail about the message I delivered at the Corporate Strategy Meeting held on May 26.
In this interview, with a focus on our Purpose, I reiterated that employees and corporate culture are Sony's most important priority, and explained the significance of connecting with 1 billion people, and collaboration across the Sony Group, which I also emphasized in my speech at the Corporate Strategy Meeting. If you haven't seen the video yet, it is available on the Sony Corporate Blog which launched in April, so please do so when you have the chance.
Sony Corporate Blog: "CEO Interview: What I wanted to convey through our Corporate Strategy Meeting"
Since the end of May, we have held a number of external communication events, including the Corporate Strategy Meeting, IR Day, and the General Meeting of Shareholders. Internally, we also held our Group Quarterly Meeting (GQM) over two days from June 1 to 2. One of the key messages that was communicated consistently through these events, was the diversity of Sony's businesses and employees.

At the GQM, I posed a question to all Sony employees: "Can Sony create a social entertainment space that seamlessly links the virtual and physical worlds?" I believe that with our diverse array of business and technologies, and the cooperation of everyone involved, we can take on this challenge in a way that only Sony can.
In the survey conducted after the GQM, I received comments such as, "If we work together across the Sony Group, we can rise up to the challenge you presented," and "Sony's strengths are in delivering real sensing and virtual entertainment. Sony is the only company with the capability of bringing about entertainment x metaverse by itself." I also received a number of immediate proposals from our Distinguished Engineers, and am greatly encouraged by the enthusiastic response from so many of you across the Sony Group to question I posed.
As always, I look forward to receiving your valuable ideas and feedback.
