Farewell Ceremony for Nobuyuki Idei
On October 25, we held a farewell ceremony for former Sony Chairman and Group CEO, Nobuyuki Idei. The ceremony, held in Tokyo, was attended by approximately 2,000 people, including political and business figures, Sony alumni and personal acquaintances who paid their respects to Idei-san. Memorial areas were also established in various Sony offices so that employees could honor his memory.
As I wrote in the memorial message I posted in June, I believe that the direction envisioned by Idei-san more than 20 years ago led to the Sony Group of today. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Idei-san for his foresight and tremendous achievements, and pray that he may rest in peace.
